Services and Responsibilities
- Collects all property taxes for Shawnee County.
- Distributes property tax monies to the state and other taxing districts.
- Serves as the bank for the county government.
- Operates the County's motor Vehicle department for the State of Kansas.
- Allows for an accountable flow of tax funds to departments providing public services.
- Mails approximately 73,000 property tax statements and completes more than 200,000 motor vehicle transactions annually.

Due dates for 2025 Real Estate and Personal Property
- 1st Half - December 22nd, 2025
- 2nd Half - May 11th, 2026
A taxpayer may pay delinquent and current taxes online through https://ikan.ks.gov/, by mail, walk-in, or drop box (Located at Shawnee County Courthouse parking lot: 200 SE 7th St).
A 2.5% convenience fee will be added to all credit and debit card payments.

Each Business Day
A 2.5% convenience fee will be added to all credit and debit card payments.
No new motor vehicle title work after 4:00 PM
A $5 service fee is assessed to all in-person transactions at the Courthouse or the Motor Vehicle Annex. Customers may avoid the $5 fee by renewing online, by mail or by drop off.

Walk-in titles will not be processed on the last business day of the month. Title work by appointment only, reserve your date now.
