Solar Energy Conversion Systems

On April 13, 2026, Shawnee County approved Solar Energy Conversion System Regulations for certain zones within the unincorporated portions of Shawnee County.

Wind Energy Conversion Systems

Shawnee County has implemented a ban prohibiting all Limited (Community Scale) and Commercial (Utility Scale) Wind Energy Conversion Systems and Projects in all Zoning District Classifications within the unincorporated portion of Shawnee County.
