Victim/Witness Program

The Victim Witness Program for the Shawnee County District Attorney’s Office was established in 2003 to ensure and enforce consistent, fundamental rights for victims and witnesses while allowing them access to high-quality, comprehensive services. Adults and children are provided with court accompaniment, support throughout all court proceedings, notification of all court hearings, assistance with restitution, and information about the Crime Victim Compensation Board, area resources, and other victim services.

The mission of the Shawnee County District Attorney’s Office Victim Witness Program is to provide comprehensive victim services to all crime victims. The vision of this program is to accompany every victim and witness through the court process; and to provide support and information to all victims and witnesses of crime.
