Notice of Audit of the 2026 General Election – pursuant to K.S.A. 25-3009 notice is hereby given that the audit of the November 3rd General Election will take place on Monday, November 9th beginning at 9:00 am at the Shawnee County Election Office, 3420 SW Van Buren Street in Topeka.

This will be a manual audit or tally of each vote cast, regardless of the method of voting, in 1% of all precincts, with a minimum of 3 precincts located within the county. The precincts will be randomly selected after the election. The audit shall be performed by a sworn election board consisting of bi-partisan trained board members. The county election officer shall determine the members of the sworn election board who will conduct the audit..

If a federal, statewide, or state legislative race is within 1% of the total votes tallied on election night, a close-race audit is triggered in addition to the required post-election audit. During even-numbered election years, the county election officer shall conduct the close-race audit in an additional 10% of the county’s precincts for the specified race, with a minimum of an additional one precinct audited in each county.

Attention Voters - Kansas Voter View will not show voting credit for the November 3rd General Election until after the State Board of Canvassers certifies the election on December 1st, 2026.
