Early Voting for the City of Topeka Primary Election begins Monday, July 21st at the Shawnee County Election Office during the following hours:
8:00 am – 7:00 pm Monday – Friday, July 21-25 and July 28-August 1
8:00 am – Noon on Monday, August 4.
The Election Office is located at the corner of SW Van Buren and SW Croix Streets. The entrance to the parking lot is from SW Croix Street.

The August 5th Primary Election is only for voters who reside inside the city limits of Topeka. There are only 2 contests in this election: Mayor and City Council District 1.

Advance Mail Ballots have been mailed via the USPS. Mail Ballots may be returned by mail, in person to our staffed drop box on the north side of the Shawnee County Election Office, or on Election Day at any poll place in the City of Topeka.
If you need a mail ballot for this election, your request must be to our office by the end of the day on Tuesday, July 29th.
